We found DVD Avenue easy to navigate and to be a user friendly site. You can search by title, actor, director or synopsis. There are no late fees, due dates and free postage.

We felt a few features that could be added to this service include; critic reviews, movie previews, and a free-trial membership, so that those interested can test the service before they buy.

Movie Arrival Time:  

The average time it takes to receive a DVD rental from DVD Avenue is two to five days, unless you live in the D.C. Metro Area, then it will take one to three days. Compared to the delivery times of other online DVD rental services, we feel this is a little long to be considered convenient.

Movie Information:  

DVD Avenue provides the movie cover image, synopsis, actors, director, rating, genre, release date and subscriber ratings. The movies don't have professional reviews and a few that we selected did not have a synopsis.

Search Capabilities:  

DVD Avenue doesn't have as many search capabilities as other online rental services; however searching by title, synopsis, actor and director as well as browsing by genre, actor, director, year and language is enough to find what you're looking for.

With four different membership plans to choose from and some of the most in-depth search capabilities we've seen, we feel that DVD Avenue is a good online DVD rental service. But they only have half the movie selection that is available through our top picks, Netflix and Blockbuster Online.
